Replacement Resistors

Hello everyone, I have 2 resistors. One is a 425ohm 5w resistor, and a 4kohm 7w resistor. However, I’m not sure where I can find a replacement 425ohm 5w resistor and a 4kohm 7w resistor. Or is there a good equivalent option I can use in place of those 2. Thanks.

Hello,

I was able to locate some good alternates that should work well as i am finding this series is requiring a high minimum quantity to order.
WW2 resistor options, all seem to have minimum quantities.

425Ohm 5W alternates in stock, no minimum quantities.

WW7 resistor, 1000 minimum quantity
WW7JB4K00-ND

WW7 resistor alernates no minimum

Thank you
Ryan

Thank you for the suggestions. I have 2 questions

  1. For the 425 ohm 5w resistor, my multimeter reads the resistance as 457. Do you know what causes the resistors to be higher than the expected 425 ohms?
  2. For 4000 ohm resistor. If I put in a 4000ohm 10watt resistor in place of the 4000ohm 7watt resistor, would it hurt anything in the board? Same for putting in a 430ohm 10watt resistor in place of a 425ohm 5w resistor if it would hurt anything in the board.

Thanks.

Hi,

My guess is the resistor has a 10% +/- tolerance so it would be in spec if that is the case. That tolerance can be plus or below the set rating.

Yes, a 10W resistor could handle up to that but doesn’t affect the abilities other than being more robust. Your fuses will still function as normal.

Thank you
