We recently had a customer call in because his IT8512A+ (4563-IT8512A+ -ND) power supply from ITECH ELECTRONIC CO.,LTD. fried itself out when he turned it on. What we figured out is that his device was set for 110V not for 220V, and when he plugged it into his 220V system and turned it on, he fried it out.
While these units are able to run on 110V or 220V systems, they have to be set to the proper setting, or they will malfunction or fry out completely. They are typically set to 110V and need switched to 220V before being plugged into a 220V system. However given the cost of this device even if you are using a 110V system I would check to make sure it is set correctly before powering it up. This information is found in the user manual along with several other safety warnings (seen below).
The line voltage selection switch is located on the back of the device (seen below). For other models it is slightly different, however it is always slightly under the input power connector, there are drawings of every model in the user guide.
The above images are intended as a quick reference, we highly recommend you read the user manual and familiarize yourself with the device and the safety requirements for proper operation. Improper use or failure to heed the safety warnings in the user manual could result in serious injury or death.
