Samtec EHT-108-01-L-D Connector Date Code

I recently got a message from our PCB Manufacturer that for the Samtec EHT-108-01-L-D Connector:
<<they got notified that these connectors have an older date code than 18 months.

The date code on these are 2034.

Is this acceptable?>>

What does date code mean? And how does it affect these connectors?

This will be the 34th week of 2020. So you will be looking at Aug 2020.

This part does not have a shelf life. Their concern may be regarding oxidation of contacts that occur over time affecting solderability. If that is the case solder flux can be used to help remove this and improve solderability.
