Sealability of this connector cover

Will this connector plug (A105101-ND) fully seal this connector (1734-1-776087-1-ND). On the data sheet it says the connector plug is sealable but i want to know if I can use it as is to seal off this connector (1734-1-776087-1-ND)

Hi bryceroark

1734-1-776087-1-ND does come with an integral interfacial seal to protect the mated connectors. When part number s 1734-1-776087-1-ND (1-776087-1) and A105101-ND (770680-1) are mated they can provide IP67/69K immersion rating.

Hi Becky,

So even if no wires are connected to the rear of A105101-ND(770680-1) it will still have an IP67/69K immersion rating?

If you are not using all of the connections, then you will need to fill the blank connections with a seal plug. Part A106459-ND is the recommend seal plug for the connector.

Hi Steven,

We don’t plan on using any of the connectors so is there a seal plug we can buy that covers the whole rear area where the blank connectors are?

There is not a sealing plug for the whole connector. Is this housing being used as a dust cover for the mating connector?

Hi Steven, yes it is being used as a dust cover/humidity seal, is there a better product than this cap?

TE does not have a connector housing for the mate that will only act as a dust cover. If the housing wouldn’t be used in the future for a connector, then the connector could be sealed with potting compound instead of using 23 sealing plugs.

Here are some options for potting compound.

Some of more viscous than others.

Hi Steven,

On the housing of this connector it looks like there are spots for placing a cap over the open ports. There aren’t any shields or covers that are meant to slide into the grooves shown in the picture?

Having checked all of the catalog for this line of product TE Connectivity doesn’t offer a cover or shield for this connector, only a strain relief that wouldn’t do what you need.
