Shunts or Jumpers are designed to connect two pin contacts for an electrical connection that are separated by a specific distance or pitch. The types are Closed Top/Grip, Insulated, Non-Insulated, and Open Top/Grip with a pitch range from 0.050” (1.27mm) to 1.00” (25.40mm) and the number of positions ranging from 1 (1 x 1) to 48 (2 x 24) or 4 (2 x 2) to 26 (2 x 13).
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Gender: Indicates whether the contacts are male, female, or non-gendered in configuration.
Number of Positions or Pins (Grid): Indicates the number of positions that are jumpered and describes their physical arrangement.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
Height: Indicates the height of the device.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.
Contact Finish Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of a device.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Material Flammability Rating: Ensures compliance with the relevant UL Flammability Rating.

Housing Material: Indicates the material composition of the housing of the device.
Voltage Rating: Typically this represents the maximum voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components.
Current Rating (Amps): Typically this represents the maximum current to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this current may damage the device and/or other system components.
