I would like to purchase a discrete thru-hole kit to mimic what a 555 IC chip does. As a learning tool and way to measure voltages along the path from in to out. A used kit in working order would be good instead.
Welcome to the TechFroum davehoug! There are a few ways to go about this. Personally, I think it would be easier to find pre-made 555 timers and use various sources as the learning tool instead of trying to build your own. The only kit I could find that might work to make such an experiment would be 7-555TIMEAMP-KIT-ND. This doesn’t have direct documentation, so you’d have to look up the part numbers in the kit for datasheet information.
