------Question for TS27-68-24-Y-260-D Please Put your question below------

Where can I purchase snap-on caps for this push-button switch? I need caps that allow the LEDs to be observed in some way and are between 6mm x 6mm and 8mm x 8mm square in size. I have looked everywhere with no results.

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

I did not see any associated caps for this switch nor any for this TS27 series at all. I’m contacting Same Sky on this to see what they might inform about it. I’ll get back to you with any feedback I get.

In the meantime, if someone else on this forum knows something about this series and associated products, I’m sure they’ll post a reply here.

Hi Irfan,

Decades ago (when DigiKey first started) I used large numbers of these illuminated switches with gray/white/black caps that were 6mm square and had a 3mm round translucent dot in the center. These were very common. The switches are still standard, but the buttons are elusive.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I hope to use them again in a new project.

I looked in our general switch accessories caps section.
When I filtered for tactile type of a switch and square shape, I didn’t see that we have any in 6x6mm square: Accessories - Caps | Electronic Components Distributor DigiKey

I didn’t see that we had any caps in that dimension that are square regardless of type of switch they were for.

I hope I’ll get a response from Same Sky soon on this. Hopefully with some caps part numbers.

I’ve got no response from Same Sky yet. I’m trying them again, hopefully they’ll respond with some information on associated caps for these switches. I’ll keep you updated here.

Hi Paul,

I got a response from Same Sky informing that they are in process of working on putting some associated caps on our website for availability.

They are working on having more options on the cap but at this time the one pictured below is all they have currently.

They did not inform me on the part number yet. Might the above work for you?

They did they tell me they are generating the part number now and are in process of making it available on DigiKey website but that won’t take place until next week Friday. Their system is updated every so often and they won’t have anything till next Friday. They said the part number will likely be TS27-CAP. Sorry I don’t have a better ETA for you Paul.

We are still interested in the switch cap we have been discussing. Is this part available yet. What about a data sheet?

Meanwhile, slightly off topic, for the same project, we have purchased a few sample knobs from you (Cliff FC7223). These are very nice knobs for our purpose, but we must have them without the engraved rotation marker. They claim to offer variations like this, but have not responded to my emails. Can you contact them for us and see what is available with the marker?

In regards to the caps, I see that the part number supplier informed should be the right part number for them of TS27-CAP, is still not within our system. It does show up on their website however: TS27-CAP | Tactile Switches but not yet with us. I did reach out to the same representative of Same Sky that I had the conversation about this again. I’ll let you know what feedback they come back with.

In regards to the knob FC7223, according to the data sheet they only come with the dot or line marking, they do not come unmarked. I’m not sure what you see where they make the claim of them being unmarked.

I found some with no indicator that are cylindrical and for the same shaft size of 6mm here: Knobs | Electronic Components Distributor DigiKey

Maybe some of those would work.

I did hear back from the representative at Same Sky on those caps. They said that the cap just became active on their website and that they have begun working on putting it up on ours. Unfortunately, I don’t have an ETA on when that will come through to DigiKey.

Can you send me the link to this product on the Same Sky website? I cannot locate it. This will help us decide whether it’s worth waiting for.

Can you respond to my question on the Cliff knob?

Thanks again for your research. The knob 2223-SAK-013 is on your list and would work if we switch to a flatted shaft. This part is listed only for large-volume purchases. Is there a way to get smaller quantities?

The knob 2223-SAK-013 is a new product and it looks to be non stocking at this time. Unfortunately, we cannot offer other than minimum order quantities for this product.
