There was an error when saving the symbol

When I use Save or Save As, enter a symbol name that is unique, I get this error: “There was an error when saving the symbol”.

I’ve tried starting over after selecting New. Same result.
I’ve logged out, then back in. Same result.

What’s the fix? Is there a max number of custom symbols (I have 50)?

Did this get resolved or is there a work around?
I’m creating a custom symbol for the first time and spent an hour on it only to have this same error whenever I try to save it.
