USB Cables have a USB interconnects on one or both ends of the cable. These devices are often used to transmit data to and from a computer and external devices or used to power/charge an electronic device. The characteristics are configuration, length, specifications, wire gauge, shielding, and style with configurations of female to female, female to male, male to male, female to cable, and male to cable using USB-A female/male, USB-B female/male, micro B female/male, micro A female/male, C female/male, mini A female/male, mini B female/male, and power male plug.
SelectionCharacteristics
Configuration: Indicates the style and configuration of the connectors used on the cable assembly.
Length: The length of the cable assembly, this length may or may not include the connectors. Please consult the individual datasheets.
Specifications: Indicates the different USB data standards the cable assembly conforms to.
Transfer Rate: Indicates the maximum data rate the cable can sustain without signal degradation.
Wire Gauge: Indicates the gauge rating of the cabling used in the cable assembly.
Shielding: Whether or not the device possesses an electrically insulating barrier that helps to reduce or eliminate electromagnetic interference.
Color: The dominant color of the cable assembly.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a screw lock, reversible, or IP ratings.
IP Ratings
IP (Ingress Protection) ratings such as (IP20, IP65, IP67, etc.) define how likely water and dirt will get into the system. The first number represents dirt and solid contaminants while the second represents water and liquids.

4 | Protected against solids larger than 1mm. | Protected against water splashed from any direction. Limited ingress permitted. |
5 | Protected against dust. Limited ingress of dust permitted. | Will not affect operation of equipment 2-8 hours. Protected against jets of water. Limited ingress permitted. |
6 | Dust tight. No ingress of dust 2-8 hours. | Protected against powerful jets of water. Limited ingress permitted. |
7 | ______________________ | Protected against the effects of immersion in 15cm-1m for 30 minutes. |
