Hello! I’m trying to identify this voltage regulator, pictured. (I don’t have a schematic, alas.)
It says IF8AC on it and has a footprint of about 1.3x2.8mm.
If it’s any help, the device takes 9vac in. I also measured the pins on this voltage regulator (while it was working, before I bridged it with a probe, hah). Those measurements are also pictured and are 3.3v, 11.6, 7.4, .8, 0, 8.8vdc going clockwise from the upper left.
Thanks much!
Zack
Hello @Zack_parts
the markings come back to a Monolithic Power Systems part MP2359DJ-LF-Z. The Datasheet calls out the F8. I have requested verification on the remaining portion of the part marking, however, I suspect it is date/lot information.

Thanks Robert!
Do you have any tips in how you found it? Was it largely your experience and having seen something like this before, or is there a way I could identify it next time? My searches of the markings came up empty.
Thanks.
Zack
Zach,
Often it is just a case of grabbing parts of the markings. In this case searching “regular marking IF8” gave me some hits that I was able to narrow down options. Many times the manufacturers only talk about base markings and nothing to do with Date/Lot or other identifiers. We also have lots of notes in our internal system from years and years of questions that are often a big help in cases like this.

Thanks, Robert. I’ll keep searching what I can on my own but appreciate your help when it’s not enough.
