Customers is looking for TI device LM13600 And what function difference between LM13600 and LM13700 because the competitor device will be EOL soon.
TI has LM13700 only now because LM13600 was obsoleted.
Can LM13700 be used for NJM13600 replacing?
I noticed that LM13700 block diagram is different from LM13600 schematic diagram. (I attached LM13600 datasheet.)
In LM13600 schematic diagram. Q13 base is connected to Q3 collector. But in LM13700 case, it is no connection.
Q1 - What does this connection happen? Is it for higher speed operation of Buffer Output? Q2 - Is ny AC characteristic different between LM13600 and 13700?
Answer-
The difference is marginal in the most cases and that the LM13700 is offering superior performance in audio applications. But without knowing your circuit, I would recommend to run some tests with the 13600 and 13700 by yourself and find out if the LM13700 can be used.
The extra connection in LM13600 has two main effects.
It increases the buffer input current needed on pins 7 & 10.
It allows buffer input transistor to turn off faster. Useful for square wave, ‘digital’ applications.
This difference only affect the Darlington buffer.
While Darlington buffer is useful, the output current on pins 5, 12 is ready to pass to a transimpedance op amp amplifier for gain and buffering. I prefer this because there is no output offset voltage and LM13700 output voltage doesn’t move which should improve THD.
