I have ordered some LED lights off Amazon and would like to daisy chain them together. They go underneath my cabinets on my workbench. I’m was given two pigtails in the kit and tried to solder them together but I realize it won’t work. I’m looking for a small cable around 5" long with a three pronged plug like the one shown.
What is this type of plug / cable is this called and does DigiKey sell a cable like this?
That looks a lot like what’s known as an IEC 320-C5 connector.
Unfortunately that’d be what’s known as a “non-rewirable” connector, meaning that they’re molded in place and not available as a put-one-on-yourself variety.
Thanks Rick. That’s a big help. Is there any way of creating a cable between two of the male prongs? I was thinking of individual wires with a hollow connector on each of the male prongs
Hi Will_F,
We have some power cables with the 320-C5 on them but not on both sides. Mostly it’s something like a NEMA style on the other end. Take a look at all options we have here:
Okay thanks Irfan. Seems hard to find a double ended cable with a 320-C5. I think what I’m going to do is order some female bullet crimp connector and use individual wires to join the prongs on the different LEDs. I’ll let you know how that goes!
