I’m looking for the correct crimp connector insert for the CONN RCPT HSG 2POS 1.50MM housing (P/N A98653-ND).
The product page lists P/N A99378TR-ND as the associated product but I have found that these don’t fully insert into the housing to engage the lock.
Can anyone tell me what part I should be using for the crimped connectors in this housing? If A99378TR-ND is the correct connector, is there a trick to inserting it?
Phil
Thank you for contacting DigiKey , per the manufacturer those are the correct contacts , they offer three part numbers for contacts for the 353908-2 housing , 84727-2 , 353918-1 and 353907-1 as shown in the links below .
Thanks for the confirmation Craig. It looks like my connectors were getting slightly distorted when I crimped them and that resulted in them not fitting properly. I was eventually able to get things crimped properly and all is good.
Hi prittenhouse ,
Insertion issues are typically a result from too large of wire gauge or insulation diameter. You may want to verify proper wire gauge and insulation diameter for a crimp to be within specification. If these are larger than permitted, the crimp may become distorted. For contacts that offer ratcheting crimpers, these are preferred as they assure consistency of proper crimps to fit inside the housing.
