This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the White LED Lighting category on DigiKey.com
LED lighting kit products combine a variety of components needed to implement an LED-based lighting solution, which is typically adapted for some particular use case such as under-cabinet illumination. Typically consisting of an AC-DC power adapter, a connectorized LED strip or array, cabling, and mounting hardware, these kits allow a user to avoid the inconvenience of selecting and ordering these components separately.
SelectionCharacteristics
Color: Indicates the color illuminated from the part.
CCT (K): Characterizes the perceived color of a nominally “white” light source, in terms of comparison to an ideal blackbody radiator. Devices with lower values appear more yellow, those with higher values appear bluer.
Flux @ 85°C, Current - Test: Typical luminous flux at indicated test current and 85°C device temperature.
Flux @ 25°C, Current - Test: Typical luminous flux at indicated test current and 25°C device temperature.
Current - Test: Indicates the amount of current flow through a device used by a manufacturer as a test condition for characterization of one or more other device parameters.
Voltage - Forward (Vf) (Typ): The rated working voltage of a device, given as a range or as a maximum.
Lumens/Watt @ Current - Test: Characterizes a device’s luminous efficacy (light output per unit of electrical input power, compensated for typical human color sensitivity) measured at the indicated test current and a specified device test temperature.
CRI (Color Rendering Index): Characterizes the influence of a light source on the perceived color of illuminated objects, relative to that produced by a standardized illuminant of the same correlated color temperature (CCT). Values closer to 100 indicate color rendition that more closely matches the standard.
Current - Max: Characterizes device current consumption while operating in an active state.
Viewing Angle: Indicates the angle of light emitted from the LED(s).
Grade: Indicates whether the device is rated for automotive use.
Qualification: Indicates which automotive standard the device meets, if applicable.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Package / Case: Indicates the type of protective case used on an electronic component to allow easy handling, installation, and protection. This selection was determined to be the closest industry standard applicable to the supplier device packaging. Typically it is best to check the actual dimensions from the datasheet rather than depend on this terminology when designing your circuit.
Supplier Device Package: This is what the manufacturer calls the package of this device. They are manufacturer specific. It is typically best to use the actual dimensions from the datasheets rather than to go by this terminology when designing your circuit.
Size / Dimension: The physical dimensions of the device. Typically length by width.
Height - Seated (Max): Indicates how far the device will extend above the surface to which it has been attached.
