WO-4209M-01P motor stuttering when powered on

Stepper motor WO-4209M-01P stutters when in use and makes load cracrking souns when in motion, is it defective or is there another cause for it?

When I’ve wired up my own stepper motors and it’s sounding like it’s trying to self destruct in my experience there is something going on with how I wired it up. Suggest doublechecking the phases.

I double checked the datasheet and used a multimeter to check the wires were in phase. Could it be something like the power supply?

It’s good to doublecheck the resistance of the A and B coils of a stepper motor to make sure they are grouped together correctly.

Usually if it’s clattering/stuttering you have the coils wired in the correct pairs, just one of the pairs is wired backwards such that it’s fighting the other coil.

When you’re testing the wiring by plugging it in for the first time you’ll want to have a way to quickly turn it off if it’s not correct.
