When using clear acrylic on the xTool P3, 4964-P0101000118-P0103000120-ND, the auto levelling can error out as the LiDAR “sees” through the material. To help with the auto level as measurement there are a few options that can be done to help.
Option 1: Do not remove all the protective paper from the material.
Removing just the protective paper from the area that will be processed, will give the LiDAR a surface to auto range instead of not being able to detect the clear acrylic.
Option 2: Add tape to the material surface.
If using a piece of clear acrylic that has already had the protective paper removed, adding a piece of painter’s or masking tape can be used to aid the auto ranging.
Option 3: Manually select point a crossbar under the material
When the LiDAR auto ranging fails, the xTool software prompts for a manual position to do the leveling.
When the prompt is available you will have 20 seconds to try new points to adjust the auto leveling.
By selecting a portion of the material that is over a cross bar, the LiDAR will get a measurement. Note that it may take a few attempts to for the LiDAR to get a measurement.
If a point that is selected doesn’t auto range, select a new point. If the auto ranging does not occur in the 20 seconds allotted, you will have to open the lid and start again.
