Advantech offers a spread of embedded solutions, including their EKI-2525-BE network switch. We’ve recently had a few questions concerning the EKI-2525I-BE variant of this device and what the additional ‘I’ in the 2525 section of the part number means.
The ‘I’, in this case indicates an expanded industrial temperature range of -40 to 70 degrees, as opposed to the consumer-grade -10 to 60 of the original, non-I device. The ‘I’ can sub in for the non-I, but the non-I should not be used if the original application calls for ‘I’.
