Bearings reduce friction between two moving parts or one stationary part and one moving part for motion stability and smoothness. The types are ball, flange, plane, rod end (male/female), roller, sleeve, spherical, thin section, thrust, and v-slot. Some of the common materials they are made from are bearing steel, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and steel.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: Identifies the configuration of the bearing.
Inner Diameter: The inner dimension of the bearing.
Outer Diameter: The outer dimension of the bearing.
Width: The overall width of the bearing.
Material: Description of the material of which the bearing is made.
Static Load Rating: Describes the maximum force that may be applied along a specified axis when a bearing and its elements are in a motionless state
Dynamic Load Rating: Describes the maximum force that may be applied along a specified axis when a bearing is supporting a load that is in motion
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a contact seal or self lubricating.
