Cable Ferrites

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Cable Ferrites category on DigiKey.com

Ferrite cores are devices that are designed to prevent high frequency noise or EMI (electromagnetic interference). These ferrite cores are made to be placed on cables or wires. Some key characteristics are the type (flat or round), the design (clamp, clip, hinged, solid, or tubular), the inner and outer dimensions, the length, the mounting type (cable tie, chassis mount, or free-hanging), and the impedance at a specific frequency.

SelectionCharacteristics

Type: Defines if the ferrite is flat or round.

Design: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.

Impedance @ Frequency: Characterizes the total magnitude of opposition to AC current flow through a device, and the test frequency at which the characterization is made.

Material: Indicates the material composition of the device.

Inner Dimension: Indicates nominal dimensions of the aperture in a core through which a conductor is intended to be passed.

Outer Dimension: Indicates exterior dimensions of a core, along a cross section through which a conductor or cable is intended to pass.

Ratings: Minimum performance standards of the device, which are typically set by a third party.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Length: Indicates the overall length of the part.
