Products in this family consist of a standard connector for coaxial cable systems combined with a resistor chosen to match the characteristic impedance of the cable materials with which the connector is commonly used. They are used in high-frequency applications to mitigate the discontinuity caused by the physical end of a cable, which may otherwise cause reflections of the signals being transmitted through the cable and subsequent corruption of the information it represents.
SelectionCharacteristics
Connector Style: Indicates a specific type of connector, for purposes of mating to the corresponding connector.
Connector Type: Indicates the physical format of the connector and the contact gender where applicable.
Frequency - Max: This represents the maximum frequency to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this frequency may cause erratic performance or damage the device and other system components.
Impedance: Identifies the effective resistance of the device to alternating current. It is comprised of resistance and reactance. It is measured in Ohm’s and uses the metric system for values.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Body Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the body of the device.
Contact Material: Indicates the material composition of the contacts of the device.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a chain, full detent, or non-magnetic.
