D2F-L and Searching for Connectors to these Switches

Hello There,

I am searching for the D2F-L switch connections. Any brand will suffice.

The D2F-L is from Omron which can be found here: https://www.digikey.com/short/v4nffrpm .

I am not searching for spade connectors. I need female connectors I can use at the end of wiring for making end stops of these switches from crimping the connectors to wiring.

Seth

P.S. Any leads are welcomed, i.e. as I am not getting close to finding them.

Thank you for contacting DigiKey , sorry we do not have any to offer with quick connects the closest option I am finding is solder lug that is part number D2F-L-D3-ND

Thanks Craig

Hello @silver2row,

DigiKey offers over 10,000 unique switches. While I have not exhaustively searched the database, I’ve never encountered a switch with a female connector.

Could you use a switch with flying leads. Here is an Omron example:

For an out of the box solution, assuming you are 3D printing the system, could you use something like this:

Best wishes,

APDahlen

P.S. You may be able to reduce the list by searching the circled termination style:

@APDahlen and @Craig_2048 ,

No issue. I will purchase some other disconnects and switches. And @Craig_2048 , I will look into those solder lugs (D2F-L-D3-ND). Thank you.

@APDahlen , I must have mistyped there a bit if you understood I was using the switches that had female contacts. I meant, and thanks to @Craig_2048 for pointing out quick disconnects as the phrasing, female connectors for the switches and not that the switches had female connectors.

Oops on my part there, kind people.

Seth

P.S. I may go with some already soldered leads if they are in sets of two only, i.e. as I will only need COM and NC.

Hey,

I just figured out what you guys/gals meant. I researched the links given.

So, another set of limit switches is now the market for me. I can contact Omron but not mention our conversation in case they sell by the case load. I do not need so many. Maybe 10 or 25 at most to compensate for my reluctant building and breakage “theory” I have when building.

Anyway, @Craig_2048 , thank you for the link. I will think strongly about what type of soldering termination versus quick disconnect I would need next time before purchasing in many orders.

And, @APDahlen , thank you. I appreciate the mildly inexpensive limit switch listed in your first link given. I will think it over or could hack it.

I would just drill a small hole in the COM/NC pins on the switches I purchased (an extremely small hole). It is too bad there are no quick disconnects for the D2F-L, i.e. as they are extremely inexpensive.

Seth

P.S. I just figured out what I was missing. I figured I could at least solder them to something or other… They are through hole technology parts for end uses like on a board. Sheesh. That makes me think…

I could be going about things incorrectly. Off to the box!

I can call this fixed and done now. Thank you both

It may be a while since I am looking around but A-Okay. I will let you know.

Also, while researching, https://www.digikey.com/short/d0n7pb93 , the link I could not help but notice the wire length was not “highlighted” or mentioned.

I looked throughout the datasheet. Anyway, how long is the wiring harness wires off the limit switch in this case?

Seth

P.S. I can always add or subtract when needed but I thought it may be somewhere else than were I looked for cable lengths for this specific part. Please reply if you know about the lengths they may come already assembled.

Hello,
Take a look at the datasheet page 1 in the part number breakdown.

  1. Length of the molded lead wire
    None : 300 mm
    -0 : 1,000 mm

Since there is no listing after the MS in the manufacturer part number the length of the wires on this switch would be 300mm.

Aw and I should have known. part number breakdown…sheesh.

Thank you, Mr. Steve.

Seth

P.S. 300mm…check. Okay, got it. Just for reference, I am no purchaser or in supply chain management if you could not already tell. Anyway, do these:

  1. Do these come with the 1000mm molded harnesses?
  2. If not, and I search here and there at times, please guide me.
    a. Would I search for 1000mm molded harness or something similar
    b. I would most likely need the exact part number. Aw…
    c. part number breakdown!
  3. Off to research more about how am I missing procurement expertise!

Thank you again, sir.

So, what I gather:

Update

01L1-2M-0 and that should bring me to a part number but is there a specific prefix/suffix for the part number on the Digikey.com site? Okay. I am getting it now…

That is what I found so far…argh. Notta in stock but I can wait. I am patient.
