My instrument is using 20-101-0494 IC MOD RABBIT 2000 22.1MHZ 512KB. A recent update to Windows 11 on my CPU caused an error whereby it is unable to communicate through serial port when trying to upload firmware to the PCA. The software I am using is Rabbit field utility 2.45. I know that its not a COM port issue as the instrument is able to communicate with the same port number with a another application.
Hello @md-najib_yunos,
By chance, are you using a USB to serial adapter?
As I understand the Rabbit 20-101-0494, it features a MAX232 transceiver. This interface operates using the original and relatively simple +/- 15 VDC serial protocol e.g., DB-9 connector. Consequently, the issue is likely driver related with the serial adaptor, OS, or the Rabbit software.
As a starting point, please look for the documentation for the USB to serial adaptor. Perhaps it has a new driver for W11. Then again, I’ve had to toss several working adapters as they were no longer supported by the new OS.
Please let us know if you were successful.
Sincerely,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,
Initially, its connected to DB-9. My engineer told me to try USB to serial which I did but nothing works.
Which port on the RCM2200 are you using? You should be using J1, with Digi’s special Serial Programming Adapter…

Hi Robert,
I manage to rectify the issue by downloading RFU 3.05.
Thank you for the info.
