Focus devices covered range from devices of modest capability implemented in a manner suitable for student or hobby use, to advanced devices suitable for telecommunications infrastructure applications.
SelectionCharacteristics
Number of DACs: Indicates the number of digital-analog converter cores contained within a board’s focus device.
Number of Bits: Indicates data converter resolution; the width of the digital word used by a device to represent an analog quantity.
Sampling Rate (Per Second): The number of times in one second the device measures and records the value of the signal being converted. A higher sampling rate indicates a more precise conversion.
Data Interface: The data communication method or protocol the device uses to send its data to a host system.
Setting Time: Characterizes the settling time of a board’s focus IC; the delay between a change in digital input code and the analog output approaching its final resulting value. Subject to manufacturer-defined test conditions.
DAC Type: Indicates whether a device’s output signal is a current, voltage, or selectable between the two.
Supplied Contents: Indicates items included with purchase.
Utilized IC / Part: Indicates the central integrated circuit the device is designed around.
