Fender AA764 10k resistor

Amplifier fender aa764. What could be the cause of the 10k resistor in the preamp circuitry to burn up.

Hello @mikecasey,

It looks like there is a 10 kΩ 1 W resistor on the supply rail between the two sections of the 20 uF capacitor.

Best guess:

  1. High leakage on the 20 uF capacitor
  2. Short on the 12AX7
