Products in this family are interconnect products used in conjunction with Flat Flexible Cable (FFC) and Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) materials and are predominantly of the sort which performs a cable-to-board interconnect function, being mounted to a printed circuit board and provide both electrical connection and mechanical retention for an inserted FFC or FPC cable.
SelectionCharacteristics
Flat Flex Type: Indicates the type(s) of interconnect material with which a connector is designed for use.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Connector/Contact Type: Indicates geometry of flex cable contacts within connector for board-mounted products, or connector style for free-hanging products.
Number of Positions: Indicates the number of distinct conductors presented at a connector’s mating interface and the number of electrical contact points present within a connector.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
Termination: Describes the shape or standard configuration of a device’s electrical connection(s).
FFC, FCB Thickness: Indicates the nominal thickness or thickness range of the interconnect material accommodated by a connector.
Height Above Board: Indicates how far the device will extend above the surface to which it has been attached.
Locking Feature: Indicates the style of mechanism(s) for cable retention incorporated into a connector.
Cable End Type: Describes the cable end treatment/geometry accommodated by a connector. Used for polarization, retention, etc.
Contact Material: Indicates the material composition of the contacts.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.
Housing Material: Indicates the material composition of the housing.
Actuator Material: Indicates the material composition of the actuator.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a board lock, EMI shielded, or solder retention.
Voltage Rating: Typically this represents the maximum voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
Material Flammability Rating: Ensures compliance with the relevant UL Flammability Rating.
