This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the FFC, FPC (Flat Flexible) Connector Housings category on DigiKey.com
FFC, FPC, or flat flexible connector housings are characterized by their number of positions, pitch, number of rows, and type of cable accepted. There are housings for both male and female connectors. Voltage rating options are 30 V, 50 V, 100 V, 300 V, or 500 V. There is a variety of operating temperatures from -65 Celsius to 125 Celsius. Material options are polyamide, polybutylene, polyester, and thermoplastic.
SelectionCharacteristics
Flat Flex Type: Indicates the type(s) of interconnect material with which a connector is designed for use.
Connector Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Number of Positions: Indicates the number of distinct conductors presented at a connector’s mating interface and the number of electrical contact points present within a connector.
Number of Rows: Indicates how many rows the connector has.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
FFC, FCB Thickness: Indicates the nominal thickness or thickness range of the interconnect material accommodated by a connector.
Locking Feature: Indicates the style of mechanism(s) for cable retention incorporated into a connector.
Voltage Rating: Typically this represents the maximum voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components.
Housing Material: Indicates the material composition of the housing.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a board guide or flange.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
Material Flammability Rating: Ensures compliance with the relevant UL Flammability Rating.
