What size is the connection for the Banana plug? 3.5mm or 4mm?
Hello johnny.marshall,
The standard size banana plug is classified as 4mm.
The hole in the standard size banana jack, will be about 4.2mm.
Are you aware that your ESD Monitoring systems like 724 mo and 724 Plus that you guys sale has 3.5mm banana plug connector and also your wrist straps that you sell also have 3.5mm banana plug connector.
It’s inconvenient that the 724 models are not compatible to the FG-470, but it’s not really unexpected. The items you mentioned are from a different manufacturer (SCS) while the tester is from Hakko. It’s not unusual for two manufacturers to have a compatible plug for something like this but it’s not something we can ever assume when putting together a station where the pieces are sourced from multiple manufacturers.
As for the wrist straps, well yes we do have 3.5mm connector wrist straps as well as a large number of other connector types, including standard banana plugs. If you need one with a standard banana instead of 3.5mm plug I’d recommend something like part number 04563-ND.
I hope that helps clear things up, sorry you ran into this snag.
