Hard Metric, Standard Backplane Connectors conform to a set of specifications for interconnection devices. These devices are used in board or panel systems where other circuit boards can be plugged into. These connectors usually have a 2.0 mm pitch from row to row and column to column. The number of positions ranges from 3 (Power) to 308 (220 + 88 Ground) in Pitch dimensions 0.050” (1.27 mm), 0.071” (1.80 mm), 0.079” (2.00 mm), 0.150” (3.81 mm), or 0.295” (7.50 mm).
SelectionCharacteristics
Connector Type: Indicates the format of the connectors used to connect this device.
Connector Style: An indication of the specific type of connection being used. Typically meets a standard.
Number of Positions: The total number of electrical conductors the device has.
Number of Positions Loaded: The total number of electrical conductors the device comes supplied and loaded into the connector body.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
Number of Rows: Indicates how many rows of contacts are on the device.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Termination: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as press-fit or solder.
Connector Usage: Indicates a standard form factor or application in which a connector is commonly used.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.
Contact Finish Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of a device.
