Hi!
I can’t find any similar transformer as the one on this photo.
Am I reading wrong, or does it have 3 outputs? 2x22v and one 9v?
Anyone seen this?

Edit: it’s fitted in a small active speaker powering both of them

Hello @benny_mc6,
The 22-0-22 implies a center tapped transformer corresponding with the red-black-red wires.
The 0-9 implied a second independent winding associated with the blue-blue wires.
We could attempt to provide functionally equivalent transformer from this selection. However, the results will not be as compact as the original.
Your best bet is to locate a similar donor equipment.
BTW, are you certain the transformer is defective? They are generally reliable. It’s been my experience that that the associated diodes malfunction.
Best wishes,
APDahlen
Thank you very much for the reply APDahlen!
Well, when I meassured it myself, I didn’t get any voltage on secondary side on it,
but I’m not a professional when it comes to meassure electronic components.
So, i left to a friend that knows this better, without mention anything about what I had tested,
and he gave me the same answer, that the transformer is broken.
Which “associated diodes” do you refer to?
Did you disconnect the secondary leads from the circuit when you checked the transformer?
If no, repeat the test with them disconnected.
With the secondary leads disconnected from the circuit, it will read higher than listed voltages because of no load, but that is normal for a transformer (load regulation).
I also noticed that the transformer has a built-in thermal switch to prevent burnout. If you remove the transformer from the system completely you may be able to access and test the thermal switch.
When I tested it, I didn’t disconnect it.
But haven’t checked with my friend how he did when he controlled. But I will ask him.
Thanks for the advice and tips!
