Hi i’m looking to identify a capacitor off a Bernina 900 Sewing Machine. I think it is the speed control capacitor. i’ll post a few pics. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

i think it is equivalent to a kemet 1x 0.1uF, 100nF 275Vac Class X2 capacitor. Is that correct?

I am as of this moment unable to ID the mpx40/100/56, I’ll continue to look into it and see if I can’t get you an ID for that.

The other capacitor notes its value as 0.1uf at 300vac. Options for that can be found here: 0.1uf Film Capacitors; you will want to filter biased on the lead length.

You’re right on there with your ratings: 0.1uF 10%, 275VAC or 300VAC, X2 safety type

See this post for info on the 40/100/56 meaning. They relate to “Climatic Category” specifications, which in this case refer to a temperature rating of -40°C to +100°C, and tolerance of 56 days at 95% humidity at +40°C.
