Hello,
I have to replace an electrolytic capacitor but I cannot identify its values.
On the top there is a red part and by the side it has the following wording:
FP
24He
271
16
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks a lot and best regards
Guido from Italy
Hello Guido,
Welcome to the community!
I believe your capacitance value, in 271, means 270 microFarads (uF) because the 1 in 271 is a 10 x multiplier. I also think the 16 is voltage, so 270uF capacitor at 16V.
What physical size is your capacitor? Does it sit on top of the circuit board or does it have wire leads that go through the circuit board?
can you place a picture of the part and the part markings, that may help id the part
First of all I want to thank you for your help. Here is the picture : but first, one more thing: do you think on a PC mobo I could replace an alluminium electr. capacitor with a traditional one without losing performance ?

Online I found this: do you think it casn be OK for a replacement part ?

Hi benedetto2009,
Does your original part have wire leads that pass through the circuit board (called “through-hole”) like the Panasonic part you are asking about, or does it have short leads which bend out to the side and are soldered on top of the circuit board (called “surface-mount”)?
Surface-mount aluminum capacitor:
Through-hole aluminum capacitor:
Yes. You should be able to use the part you picked. Just make sure it will fit the size you need.
Thank you very much for your help. Have a good day.
