I need help identifying connectors

Hello, I am a recreational vehicle (RV) technician in Glendale, AZ, and need help identifying exactly what connector I am looking at in the attached photos. In addition, if possible, provide part numbers so that I can order the parts, get the correct crimper, and pin removal tool. I am specifically looking for the female connector, along with associated repair parts and tools.

I am also very new to repairing these cables. The reason for wanting to learn this process is to prevent customer downtime due to parts delays and the expense of purchasing new cables. For instance, this cable, new and 10 feet long, is probably made up of $10-15 worth of parts and costs $176.

Thank you.

Matt

Hi @rvmissionready ,

That pretty much resembles JST VH series. Can you confirm that the pin pitch is 3.96mm?

Heke,

Thank you for your reply.

How exactly do you confirm pin pitch with a micrometer or a tape measure? I am new to identifying the physical characteristics of connectors.

Hi Matt @rvmissionready ,

Take a look at this excellent article.

Cheers, heke

Hello,

For the pitch you would want to measure the center pin of a contacts distance to the next pins center to get you the right series to mate with.

Thank you
