Laser Diodes, Modules

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Laser Diodes, Modules category on DigiKey.com

Laser Diodes and Modules are semiconductor devices that can emit a beam of high intensity focused radiation, typically in the infrared, visible or ultraviolet wavelength ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum, coherently (light waves of the same wavelength, phase and direction). With power ranges from less than 1 milliwatt to multiple watts of peak optical power, and a wide range of input voltage, current and case sizes, there are items for nearly all applications.

SelectionCharacteristics

Wavelength: Characterizes the highest point in a device’s output spectrum when operated at rated test conditions.

Voltage - Input: The rated working voltage of a device, given as a range or as a maximum.

Current rating (Amps): Characterizes device current consumption while operating in an active state.

Power (Watts): The maximum continuous output power a device is designed to produce.

Package/Case: Indicates the type of protective case used on an electronic component to allow easy handling, installation, and protection.
