Leadframe terminals connect a semiconductor’s thin metal leadframe wiring to the large-scale circuitry on electrical devices and circuit boards. Leadframes and leadframe terminals are used in almost all semiconductor packages. Terminals are chosen by terminal pitch, frame width and thickness, clip style and type, and dimensional considerations such as pin length, clip length, and board thickness.
SelectionCharacteristics
Clip Style: Indicates the package of the microchip the leadframe is designed for use with.
Clip Type: The type of the mounting part of the frame.
Clip Length: Indicates the length of the mounting clip portion used for attachment.
Pin Length: Indicates the length of the main body of the frame.
Termination: Indicates how the leadframe is attached.
Frame Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the main body of the frame.
Frame Width: Indicates the width of the main body of the frame.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.
Contact Material: Indicates the material composition of the contact.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts.
Board Thickness: Indicates the nominal thickness of circuit boards to which a product is designed to be directly attached.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as hold down.
