Screw connectors or screw terminals are commonly used concurrently with ring connectors, rectangular connectors, spade connectors, or bare wire. These single conductor connectors come in many terminal types such as: binding post, turret, power tap, screw terminal, and shank terminal. They accept a variety of different screw sizes and are made to be press-fit and/or soldered into PCBs.
SelectionCharacteristics
Terminal Type: Indicates the style and configuration of the device.
Screw Size: Indicates the size and/or thread specification of fasteners with which a product is designed for use.
Termination: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as press-fit or solder.
Current Rating (Amps): Typically this represents the maximum current to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this current may damage the device and/or other system components.
Number of Pins: Indicates the number of protrusions present on a device that are used to provide mechanical fixation and electrical connection.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as low profile or a cover.
