Memory - Batteries

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Batteries category on DigiKey.com

Nonvolatile static RAM (SRAM) memory and some portable devices require an onboard backup source of power to prevent data loss. Lithium or lithium cell batteries in snap-in, surface mount or through-hole configuration can last up to a decade as power backups. Some use mounting bases for simplified replacement or include a crystal for timekeeping RAMs.

SelectionCharacteristics

Battery Chemistry: Indicates the chemical system on which a cell or battery is based.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached

Package / Case: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.

Supplier Device Package: This is what the manufacturer calls the package of this device. They are manufacturer specific. It is typically best to use the actual dimensions from the datasheets rather than to go by this terminology when designing your circuit.
