This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Modules category on DigiKey.com
Terminal block interface module products serve an interconnect function in a branching or breakout capacity, providing a convenient means of transitioning from a high density interconnect format such as a D-sub or rectangular connector to one of lower density that is more easily serviced, such as a set of terminal blocks. This can simplify installation and maintenance tasks in industrial control systems by allowing the use of high density cabling between a control device and the point at which the signals need to be made accessible for service or installation.
SelectionCharacteristics
Protocol: Enumerates the communications protocols and/or standard interfaces that a device supports or implements.
Function: Indicates the use case of the device.
Interface: Indication of which interface(s) are used by the device to communicate with other components in the system.
Standards: Enumerates protocol, format, form factor, or similar standards with which a device conforms.
Voltage - Supply: Typically this rating indicates the nominal amount of voltage you would expect the device to draw during normal operation.
Current - Supply: Typically this rating indicates the nominal amount of current you would expect the device to draw during normal operation.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
Package / Case: Indicates the type of protective case used on an electronic component to allow easy handling, installation, and protection. This selection was determined to be the closest industry standard applicable to the supplier device packaging. Typically it is best to check the actual dimensions from the datasheet rather than depend on this terminology when designing your circuit.
Supplier Device Package: This is what the manufacturer calls the package of this device. They are manufacturer specific. It is typically best to use the actual dimensions from the datasheets rather than to go by this terminology when designing your circuit.
