Need help finding a fast recovery diode, please

Hello everyone,

I have a Nordictrack Treadmill T6.5s model# NTL 17915.24 and the drive motor runs for a sec and just quits.

My research seems to point to this diode:

But I’m having considerable difficulty locating a data sheet for it, much less a replacement part.

Here is the board it sits on:

And it drives the dc motor for the belt.

It appears to be a “fast recovery diode” and I found this:
DSEP30-06A-ND

But could use some advice as to whether or not it’s a suitable replacement.

Thanks! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::+1:

Hmmm… that link doesn’t seem to work. Maybe this one is better:

I believe this is what you are looking for.

Thanks for the reply Adam, the link shows a 3 pin mosfet, if I’m not mistaken, and the designation is missing the ‘a’ at the end. SFP3006A. The one I’m trying to replace has two pins and the schematic on it looks more like just a diode.

What do you think? I’m not very knowledgeable in this area, so forgive me if I’m being a bit obtuse. :winking_face_with_tongue::grin:

maxx40982,

You have a SPF3006A diode and there is 1 diode inside the case.
In SFP3006 there are 2 diodes inside the case.
The characteristics are the same for 1 or 2 diodes.
You will need a Super-Fast Recovery Rectifiers diode with the following characteristics:
Peak Repetitive Reverse Voltage: 600V
Average Rectified Forward Current: 15A
Peak Repetitive Forward Current: 21 A
Maximum Reverse Recovery Time: 35 ns

I can offer diode APT30DQ60BG:

Yeah! That seems to meet or exceed the specs you said I need. I’ll order some of these. Thank you so much for your help. You are truly AWESOME! Have a GREAT weekend, my friend. :+1:
