Need Help Finding a Suitable Jumper

Hi, I need help finding a suitable jumper wire (6 inches or longer) to connect these two parts. The connector has “14 SF” on the side. This is from an M-Audio 88es Keystation midi controller. Thank you in advance for your time and help!

I thinking maybe 455-2258-ND as the other options like options

Thanks fo the reply, Robert. Will these work to connect the two?

The male ends of those Dupont style jumpers are really only suitable for prototyping. They will most likely have a very loose fit in the female connector.

If the gear is only occasionally moved around a studio they may be OK. If the gear will be used in a live performance you’ll need a proper tight fitting connector.

Hi burnm836

You could also consider extending the length of the original cable.
As this seems to be a JST XH connector, could buy seven 12" jumpers…

… cut half to get 14 6" jumpers that have crimped terminal at one end only. Strip away 2mm of the insulator from the cut ends . Then remove each terminal from the housing, insert the stripped wire to the terminal and apply some solder. Finally use heat shrink tube for each joint to prevent shorts. Insert the terminals to the housing.

Cheers,

@PaulHutch thanks for the information. The gear will be mounted in a studio and will not be moved after installation. I might go this route.

@heke thanks for the idea. I had considered extending the length of the original cable; however, this is more work than necessary for my application at the moment.
