Note on Abracon Datasheet that makes no sense to me

I’ll use the Abracon ABM8G-25.000MHZ-B4Y-T for an example. The note about “due to availability of materials, the chamfer might be on Pin 1 or Pin 4”.
So when they are “mining for pads” sometimes they find the #4s with a chamfered edge? It’s not like the pads for #1are a different material than the others. It seems more like “when our guy loaded the machine, he put the chamfered pads in the wrong feeder”. Someone make this make sense, please.
I fully understand that it means you can’t look for the chamfer and call it pin 1, but the polarity gets questioned more than it should and it’s because the datasheet includes this right above the actual description of how to determine orientation.

Hello,
Welcome to our community and thank you for posting on our TechForum.
The note specifically said that this will have no effect on electrical characteristics of the part.

Haha!

Only speculation here, but I presume the “raw materials” refers to the available packaging from their sources. Perhaps the internal structure of some of those packages make it necessary, for some reason, to orient the internals a different way.
