Part identifying

Im looking for a replacement for TR9 I do believe it’s a voltage regulator. But I can’t find any information on it. It’s the one with the CF SN on it. It burned up on my second board.

Hi @tj3581 ,

Likely a PNP transistor in SOT-89.

The closest I could get is this

Hi, heke.

I propose this option: 2SD2150T100S

Datasheet

Hi Adam,

Yeah, that looks good too. Also found 2SC3650 for that marking, but it’s very old part. I guess the first job would be to find out if it is NPN or PNP. Pretty much depends on where the emitter is connected to (denoted “E” on PCB). I was guessing that the transistor is for power path control etc. but if the “E” is connected to ground (through via), then it must be NPN.

Cheers ,heke

Thank you so much I will test when I get home today

Just to let you know the “E” is connected to ground (through via)

Hi @tj3581 ,

Thanks. Then it’s likely an NPN and the one @Adam7 proposes. I’d try that first.

Can you measure the voltages at the other pins of that transistor?

Cheers, heke
