Products in this category are used as a platform for circuit construction in hobby, experimental, and similar settings where adaptability is desired. Characterized by having a series of holes drilled through their thickness at regular intervals, they may also include a solderable conductive layer around these holes, which may or may not be interconnected, depending on the nature of a specific product. Often used for constructing circuits based on through-hole component packaging, similar products lacking perforation are more commonly used for circuit development using surface mounted components.
SelectionCharacteristics
Proto Board Type: Indicates intended board application or usage.
Plating: Indicates which type of plating the board bears, if any.
Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent holes.
Circuit Pattern: Describes the pattern of copper plating and interconnection (if any) between holes on the board.
Edge Contacts: Indicates the quantity and pitch of any card edge contacts provided.
Hole Diameter: Indicates the nominal diameter of the holes on the board.
Size / Dimension: The physical dimensions of the device. Usually given in Length by Width, in Inches (Millimeters).
Board Thickness: Indicates the nominal thickness of the circuit board material from which a product is constructed.
