Ring connectors or ring terminals are heavily used in solderless wiring applications. These single conductor connectors are crimped onto a wire and mate with a stud or tab of a predefined size to make a secure connection. They are available in a variety of different wire gauges with insulated and uninsulated options. The color of the insulation signifies the connector wire gauge. Ring connectors are commonly found in automotive applications where durable and reliable connections are necessary.
SelectionCharacteristics
Terminal Type: A general description of the connector.
Stud/Tab Size: Indicates the size of a fastener that a terminal is designed to accommodate.
Thickness: Indicates the through-plane thickness of the ring section of the connector.
Width - Outer Edges: The distance across the widest portion of a terminal, at the region typically used to connect the terminal to an application using a threaded fastener.
Length - Overall: Indicates the overall length of the connector.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Termination: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as crimp or piercing crimp.
Wire Gauge: The wire size or size range with which a product is designed for use, typically expressed in terms of AWG (American Wire Gauge).
Insulation: Indicates whether or not the device is insulated.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as heavy duty or serrated termination.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Contact Material: Indicates the material composition of the contact.
Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contact.
