This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Robotics - End Effectors category on DigiKey.com
Robotics end effectors are devices located at the end of a robotic arm. There are various types available that are geared towards specific applications. These can be filtered by the drive type, stroke per jaw, operating pressure, and more.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: A general description of the device and it’s function.
Number of Jaws: The number of item manipulating apparatuses the device has.
Drive Type: How the item’s motion is powered.
Stroke Per Jaw: The total distance the jaw is able to travel.
Operating Pressure: The range of pressures the device can handle of actuating the jaws.
Closing Force: The amount of force the jaw can exert when closing.
Opening Force: The amount of force the jaw can exert when opening.
Features: Special features or functions the device includes.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
Ingress Protection: IP (Ingress Protection) ratings such as (IP20, IP65, IP67, etc.) define how likely water and dirt will get into the system. The first number represents dirt and solid contaminants while the second represents water and liquids.
IP Ratings
