What is the orientation of this antenna

model in particular. Whether the smooether

side face the sky or towards the ground?

The star symbol would be the Top Housing. Ground would face the label side.

Ok, just to clarify, this surface (with the star) faces the sky, is that correct?

You will want to check the plane patterns in the datasheet for signal strength at different orientations but I believe that is correct.
