Thermal fuse for 1100-watt hot air gun

Good morning Digi Key team,

I have a 1,200 watt (120v) Wagner hot air gun that quit working. I disassembled it and tested the thermal fuse. No continuity. It is blown. The only markings on the fuse, itself, are: H TUB. The fuse body length, not counting the wire extending from each end, is between 5/8"-3/4". Do you have a thermal fuse that would work for me? I also need the brass rivets required to attach it to the heater coil board in the hot air gun.

Hello @joefry2594,

Welcome to the TechForum.

DigiKey has a variety of thermal fuses. To my knowledge, brass rivets are not offered.

As a side note, this is one situation where I advise against repairing the unit. Without overexaggeration, a mistake could burn the house down, maybe today or 10 years in the future.

Sincerely,

APDahlen

Thanks. Your sound advice is well-taken. I trashed the heat gun and bought a new one.

So it goes.
