I am replace a 1970’s transistor(2SC458) and ordered a KSC1845 one. Actually 20 of them. The data sheet shows it as ECB pinout but I recieved a JCC1845 and the pinout is CEB reversed it’s BCE. Can I just solder it in reverse?
Hello and welcome to the TechForum @egengenbach! From what I can tell the pinout should be the same between the KSC1845 and JCC1845, ECB. This matches up to the pinout I found for 2SC458 so I would wager that you don’t even need to reverse it when you place it on the board.
That said, I am curious to know how you found that the pinout on the JCC1845 was reversed? Definitely worth looking into if that’s correct.
I used a transistor tester and check the result with a multimeter set to diode to find E,C and B.
I b arrowed a higher priced tester and the pinout is correct. My tester read the ECB incorrectly. sorry for the misinformation.
Thanks for the update! I was really scratching my head on this one, we were about to contact the manufacturer to see if there was a bad lot or something of the like. Good to know everything seems to be working out.
