Static control shielding bags and materials are ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) packaging products designed to prevent damage due to stray electro-static discharge. Bags, films, and tubing can conduct, dissipate or shield enclosed ESD-sensitive devices. They are selected by the inside dimensions, thickness in mils, and the closure system such as clip, heat seal, tape or zip lock, and tensile strength.
Type: Indicates material function/purpose and form factor.
Metal Layer: Indicates if a bag/material has a metallic layer, and the location(s) thereof if so.
Static Discharge Shielding: Indicates ESD shielding effectiveness in terms of a maximum amount of discharge energy detected using a standardized test, commonly ANSI/ESD STM11.31.
Closure System: Indicates intended method of bag closure or fixation.
Thickness: The physical thickness of the material.
Length - Inside: Usable length of bag or interior; does not include seams or closures.
Width - Inside: Usable width of bag or interior; does not include seams or closures.
Tensile Strength: The maximum pulling force or stress that can be applied to a product or material before failure occurs, under manufacturer-defined test conditions.
Color: The dominant color of the material.
