Hello Broadside4115, welcome to the TechForum! Is there any way you can grab a screen shot? I can’t get this website to load on our end.
Sure thing!
Description is: UX462FA IO FFC 28P 0.5MM,L153
I believe 153 refers to the length of 15.3cm.
Thank you for providing more details. The closest parts I could find can be found in this list:
Flat Flex Ribbon Jumpers, Cables | Cable Assemblies | DigiKey
Oh that’s a lot of choice, thank you! Is there anything I should be aware of other than length, pins, pitch? (I’m a consumer layperson looking to fix my laptop)
I really appreciate you taking the time to look at this! Thank you again.
The picture looks like the cable has the exposed pads on the same side of the cable.
Please verify that, and the cables on the link are listed as: Top on both sides, backers on both sides.
If one pad is on top, and the other on the bottom (when it’s laid flat on a surface), it would be listed as: Top on One Side, Bottom on Other, Backers on Both.
Another thing to note is that I couldn’t get the exact length. These come really close. David makes good points too. I don’t know how tight of a tolerance that computer has for length.
Thank you! There did seem to be quite a bit of slack when I was disconnecting it from the device. I think some variance in the size would be okay. It’s an old device so I don’t mind a bit of trial and error!
Sorry, I had a quick follow up question.
for the exposed ends measurement, I see 3.5mm and 4mm. Would the exposure measurement be 3 or 4mm in the attached measurement please?
Thank you again
It appears to be 3mm. The portion with the green O’s appears to still be covering the contacts. That would be closest to 3.5mm.
Perfect. Thank you!
