DigiKey’s capacitor kits offer a convenient way to order capacitors of a particular dielectric type with a range of values, voltage ratings, and/or physical sizes. While some ship as assortments of bulk-packaged components suitable for refill purposes, most include a divided plastic case or storage bin for quick, convenient access to a component of a desired value for use in product development or educational labs, service and repair shops, and similar environments.
SelectionCharacteristics
Kit Type: A general description of the function and contents of the kit.
Capacitance Range: Indicates the span of capacitance values the kit includes.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the devices in the kit can be attached.
Voltage - Rated: Indicates the span of voltage ratings the kit includes. Typically this represents the maximum voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components.
Tolerance: The percentage by which the part’s resistance is allowed to shift from its stated value and still be considered within specification. Indicates the span of tolerances the kit includes.
Applications: Application is the type of equipment or environment the device will be used in, they are tested and typically rated by a third party to ensure certain minimum standards for the application they are intended for. You could use one with a higher rating, but you cannot use one with a lower rating as it will fail in that application. For example, you could use a medically rated device to replace a commercial device, but you cannot replace the medical device with the commercial device.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as high voltage, low loss, or AEC-Q200.
Quantity: Indicates the number of pieces contained in the kit.
Packages Included: Describes the footprints/terminations/sizes the items in the kit have.
